Mary Perrine Named 2010 District 122 Teacher of the Year

The District 112 Foundation announced that Mary Perrine, a teacher at Chaska Middle School East, was chosen as the 2010 District 112 Teacher of the Year. Ms. Perrine was selected from a field of five outstanding educators, including Rob Jacobs (Chaska High School), Jeanne LaMoore (Pioneer Ridge Middle School), Jodi O’Brien (Clover Ridge Elementary), and Jennifer Stone (Chaska High School). The recognition event was held at Oak Ridge Conference Center on Sunday, April 25, 2010. Officials from Carver (Mayor Jim Weygand), Chanhassen (Deputy Mayor Jerry McDonald), Chaska (Mayor Mark Windschitl) and Victoria (Mayor Mary Thun), and School Board Chair, Rod Franks, introduced the five finalists at the event. Julie Myhr, the 2009 Teacher of the Year, announced the winner and shared how her grant had benefited the students at Bluff Creek Elementary. The District 112 Foundation hosted the event and two Chaska businesses, KleinBank and Casualty Assurance of Chaska LLC, and its partners Westfield, West Bend Mutual, Western National and AAA, sponsored the grants awarded the teachers, including $3000 for Ms. Perrine and $500 for each of the other four finalists. Mrs. Perrine will now represent Eastern Carver County Schools in the Minnesota Teacher of the Year Competition.

Julie Myhr 2009 District 112 Foundation Teacher of the Year!

$3,000 dollars was granted to Julie for use of her choice at Bluff Creek Elementary.

The other finalists received $500 dollars for use in their schools.
These donations were made possible through Klein Bank and Casualty Assurance.
